What's behind the name
Aphrodite (Ἀφροδίτη) is the goddess of love, beauty and desire. The old poets linked her name to aphros, the sea foam — in Hesiod she rises fully formed from the foam of the waves near Cyprus, beauty arriving from the water. Her sacred plants were the rose, the myrtle and the apple, and her gift was beauty understood not as vanity but as care: the tending of oneself as something worth tending.
That is the spirit this brand carries. Aphrodite is about the ritual of care — the bath as a small devotion, botanicals grown and gathered rather than bought, and the simple act of treating your own body as worth the trouble.
